Some trends are back this year of which is part the fringe outfits and the question arises on how to adopt it? The general issue with trend is that we wish to follow it making us purchase an item that we wear for months and then throw away when the trend gets over and it goes on. That’s why if you want to follow a trend, you should be mindful on what you purchase.

1. How to avoid falling in the trend trap?

I believe we can own a fringy piece in our wardrobe and choose it wisely so that it will last us. Obviously if we choose a really an atypical pink or purple fringy coat we might not want to wear it year after year. This may not be valid if you opt for a more timeless fringy piece. A timeless piece won’t get out of trend and will last you for your for years, it will even become a must have in your wardrobe to make a simple look stands out. 

2. Tips to purchase a trendy item

Here are some tips if you also wish to own an atypical piece such as a fringy item without going crazy with the budget: 

• Buy it during sale season, 
• Buy a steam piece such as a coat, a belt or boots in a neutral colors that is easy to pair it with any outfit; 
• Buy it in an italian little shop rather than in fast fashion places. The price will be lower or equivalent and a good quality piece will always be good-looking look. 
• Buy the fringy item fitted: as fringes tend to moves and make a look wider, it is better to opt for a piece that is tight fitted or close to body curves. 
• Last but not least, enjoy your fringy hunt.

For my side, I opted for a fringy coat. It is a fringy black coat found in a small shop in Florence which I love because it has such a unique style with its cut and its belt. To be honest, I paid it less than what I would have paid in a fast-fashion shop and the quality is amazing. That may seems crazy but in fact you can find amazing bargains in small shops for really affordable price and high-quality fabric. That’s the reason why I encourage you to purchase from these little shops rather than in mass market shops. You will find unique pieces and at even cheaper prices that you might even wonder. Italy especially has a lot of small shops like these.
